Social Ministry year

What are the real roots of the unequal distribution of wealth and power in our world?
How can we challenge and change racism, sexism, homophobia and militarism?
How do we build community locally and globally in ways that are respectful and inclusive?
What would it mean to be good stewards of all creation?

Come, explore these questions and more in the CCS one-year certificate program in Social Ministry!

The learning opportunities and challenges of the Social Ministry year allowed my engagement with new dimensions of our changing world...we are able to turn our place of privilege toward liberative action, transformation and right relationship. We do this as a grateful response to God.

- Gail Clarkson, CCS graduate.

The Social Ministry Year..was transformational for me...Through experiences and reflection I began to understand the importance of ministries of prophetic voice, accompaniment, witness, advocacy, and peace-making. It turned my world upside down...in a good way.

- Laura Hunter, CCS graduate

The Social Justice Year consists of:

  • Introduction to Social Justice Theory
  • Themes in Social Ministry
  • Social and Ideological Analysis
  • Field Placement (500 hours)
