Whether you are a current donor or if you are considering a gift to CCS, please know that ALL donations -- whether the gift is modest or large – are valued and have a positive and enduring impact on CCS Education for ministries of pastoral care, education and social transformation.

The Centre for Christian Studies does good work and as a Canadian Registered Charity, has its donations governed by the regulations of the Canada Revenue Agency. All financial gifts are eligible for an income tax receipt for the calendar year in which the gift(s) was/were received.

Funding revenue to support the initiatives of CCS comes from a number of sources (based on the 2011 operating budget):

According to a 2009 report, 39% of the 175 free-standing institutions in the Association of Theological Schools were "financially stressed", with less than a year's worth of spendable assets. (Spendable assets do not include endowment and bursary money since they are not to be spent.) The Centre for Christian Studies is one of those financially stressed schools.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising that the work of training men and women to be faith-filled educators, compassionate caregivers, and radical justice-seekers in the world doesn't automatically result in fabulous wealth and financial security. CCS survives through the financial support of the United Church of Canada, a conscientiously managed endowment fund, and the generosity of donors like you.

 

How to Donate:

You can make a one-time gift. You can support CCS on an ongoing basis. You can leave a bequest through the Songs of Life legacy book. There are many ways you can donate to CCS.

By cheque

Write a cheque, payable to "the Centre for Christian Studies", and mail it to us at:

On the memo line write "donation" or indicate the particular fund to which you'd like to donate (eg. general, endowment, bursary,etc.)

Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR)

You can have a donation automatically withdrawn from your bank account on a regular basis. Contact Marc Desrosiers to get set up.

Canada Helps

Make a donation through Canada Helps, a website that facilitates charitable giving. You can make a donation with credit card, interac, or credit card. All you have to do is click the button below and follow the Canada Helps directions.

Songs of Life Legacy Book

The Songs of Life legacy book at the Centre for Christian Studies is a planned giving program that offers participants an opportunity to leave both a financial and historical legacy to CCS. Contributors make a promise to leave a bequest to CCS and have their life stories inscribed in the Songs of Life legacy book.
